It is a fact. Look up which television shows have the higher average audience in any country. Many of the most-seen programs are Big Brother-like. Why do they work so well?

Authenticity. After some time, participants get used to be on camera and what you see is real: their true self.

If you apply this principle to other things, such as social media, you can see why things attract people. Sometimes there are facts and reasons why people want to know about things. But in general, people follow people to see who they are, what they are doing.

Soon, people lose interest if nothing authentic shows up. Attraction happens when people share who they are, but if the information stops intriguing the followers, they leave.
